Pet Your Way to a Happier Day!

Did you know that some of the best therapists have four legs? Having a pet has been proven to help boost mental health!

Animals make some of the best support systems. They are loyal and non-judgemental creatures that will be by your side no matter what else you are going through. In addition to this, taking care of something gives us a feeling of purpose. The animal relies on you for food, water, etc. and creates a routing that will keep you moving.

Your pet doesn’t have to be an Emotional Support Animal to help you combat depression or anxiety. Being around animals helps lower our stress hormones and release chemicals in our brain that help us “feel good” like oxytocin.

If you have a pet, try and spend a little extra time with them today to boost your mood!

Don’t have a pet of your own? There are plenty of ways you can do this in your community. You can volunteer at your local animal shelter, attend rescue events, visit a cat cafe, and more! Even watching videos of cute animals online can help us relax!
