About you (remember this site is anonymous!)

Hi! I’m a teacher. I wrote a wringer chapter summary at StoryboardThat platform a few weeks ago. Jerry Spinelli’s Wringer is the story of Palmer LaRue, a 10-year-old boy growing up in the early 1900s. Palmer is determined to avoid becoming a “wringer” – someone who wrings the necks of injured pigeons at the local fair. When Palmer meets Shooter, a boy who seems to have everything, he is drawn into Shooter’s world of pigeon racing. Palmer soon discovers that being a wringer is not as easy as it seems. The novel tells the story of Palmer’s struggle to come to terms with his own identity and find his place in the world. Wringer is an engaging and thought-provoking read that will stay with you long after you’ve finished the last page.
